Obituary for William Alesantrino

William F. 'Spike' Alesantrino, 72, of Connellsville, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Excela Health Frick Hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1939, in Connellsville, a son of the late Francis and Margaret (Hreha) Alesantrino. Prior to his retirement, Spike worked in the maintenance department at the former Anchor Hocking Glass Plant, South Connellsville. He was a member of St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, and also attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Connellsville. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Independent Slovak Citizens Clubs in Connellsville. He is survived by his wife, Marsha Bower Alesantrino, of Connellsville; a son, Kevin M. Bower and wife, Jenifer, of Connellsville; grandchildren, Michael, Kristopher and Robert Bower, Emerald, Connor, Jacob and C.J. Reilly; brother-in-law, Richard E. Bower, of Connellsville, and children, Emily Bower and Richard Bower Jr.; brother, John Alesantrino and wife, Susan, of South Connellsville, and their children, John Alesantrino Jr. and wife Chris, of Connellsville, Jeffrey Alesantrino and wife, Elise, of Somerset, David Alesantrino and Julie Alesantrino-Brothers, of Mt. Pleasant; and also many great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Connellsville, with Pastor Dennis Roser officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
